Even our fabric covered buttons and garment labels are prepared here, in Australia.

Our design process starts with beautiful, sustainable fabrics.

We select fabrics that enhance durability and desirability that fit within a circular fashion economy. We are mindful to prioritise the fabrics that are safe for people and planet throughout the garments entire life, and renewable or recycled. All our fabrics are Australian cotton, or quality deadstock fabric (including our fabulous Liberty Fabrics), & upcycled cotton . We have made the intentional choice to not design with polyester fabrics, and to avoid fabric blends which hinder garment recyclability. We have only three fabrics that are blends, a luxe silk / cotton, due to both fibres being natural it is biodegradable; and two Liberty fabrics that contain 1-2% elastane which gives stretch for our required design functionality.

We make less

Our designs are exclusive and made to order for our clients. This is an intentional choice so that we have no over production & you have the opportunity to customise your designs. Special garments stay in use for longer.

Considered design

Our clothing is accessible: it is easy to put on, take off and move in! You will notice none of our garments have centre back zips. That’s intentional. It doesn’t make good sense to place a fastener in a hard to reach place. Nor for a gorgeous sleeved dress to limit the movement of your arm. We apply universal design principles so that garments are inclusive to women with disability. As each item is made to order all designs can be customised to further accommodate clients. Universal design benefits everyone.

Opulent finish

Garments that are gorgeous on the inside and out thanks to the care and pride of our seamstress. Most designs have French seams and we have a unique technique for finishing our facings so that the inside of your garment is always as beautiful as the outside. Sleeveless dresses and tops have sewn in bra keepers so that bra straps are never visible. Always sewn from quality Australian cotton or deadstock fabrics in natural fibres that allow your skin to breathe.

Biologically circular inputs

You may have seen on our socials lately that we have made a number of new designs that are made from natural materials only - and have ZERO hidden plastics! This includes fasteners and thread choices!

This means zero micro-plastics released when washing and after a long fabulous life, your garment can be recycled or be returned to the soil where it will break down naturally.

It is standard to sew using thread that is a blend of synthetic & cotton - we challenge this. Our new bridal designs are made using only thread from natural fibres (silk and cotton) and we have used silk organza to add internal structure where common practice is to use synthetic interfacing.

As all designs are custom - should you like any of our existing designs made entirely plastic free, just drop a note when ordering. We would love to accomodate you and appreciate your support as we continue on our sustainability journey.

Packaging & post

We use minimal packaging to reduce waste. We don’t make swing tags - we do provide detailed care information printed on paper. Garments are delivered in person to our local clients.

Posted orders are packed in Better Packing Co home compostable cornstarch poly mailers that are biodegradable, strong & waterproof; or SWOP reusable mailers almost totally made from natural, renewable materials - FSC paper, organic cotton, soy-based inks and a plant-derived coating. Better Packaging Co. is a carbon neutral BCorp

We post using Australia Post which is carbon neutral.

Free repairs

We stand by our garments and offer complimentary repairs for all Madi & Pip designs. We ask that you cover the cost of delivery or drop off to our Gold Coast studio. Re-making or alterations can also be requested and will be individually quoted based on the time required.

Fashion for good.

We strive to be better not bigger.
