The New Denim Project Gown

Spoiler - it’s not denim as you know it!

This multiwear, multisize gown, is compostable containing no hidden plastics or metals, when made from fabric from The New Denim Project and Tencel or cotton thread. The New Denim Project collects raw material derived from upcycled cotton and post-industrial textile waste, grounding scraps back into fibre, and spinning these once again into new yarns to weave and upcycle into a curated woven fabrics collection.

The fabric making process is chemical-free, dye-free, and uses minimal water and energy. The New Denim Project does not add any synthetic fibers (such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, etc), as they are committed to creating products that are all 100% natural and compostable - circular. Their own leftover material from the upcycling process, is passed on to coffee-growers, to use as compost. Upcycling this waste back into production systems, making it a reusable and valuable resource, serving as food for new organisms.

What are your thoughts on this beautiful fabric and design? Would you like to see more designs made with The New Denim Project fabrics?
