Know the story of your clothes. From field to fashion - it’s good to know.

So why do we love Australian cotton?

  • Approximately 90% of Australia’s cotton businesses are family farms. And your designer… her family has one of them!

  • Australian cotton growers are recognised as leaders in responsible farming practices, both in their water efficiency and in their use of cotton varieties suited to the Australian climate. Check out Best Management Practice #bmpcotton and Better Cotton Initiative #bcicotton . Australiancotton.com.au and Cottonaustralia.com.au share a lot of information about our local farming and supply chains. The Australian cotton industry has some really exciting projects in motion, including the Circular Cotton Farming Project where shredded cotton products at end of life are returned to the cotton fields, offering both benefits to cotton soil health, and a scalable solution to textile waste. Emma spoke to a grower involved in this on the weekend of our Fibre To Fashion event at Springridge.

  • Our cotton is world class. We grow premium fibres! Long staple fibres create higher quality fabrics that are durable yet soft and really luxurious. Check out Australian Super Cotton
