Australian cotton showcased in Brisbane Fashion Month Pop Up Boutique in Brisbane City this month. Designer Emma Bond is inspired by the Australian cotton industry “I love that our growers are family farmers, people that love their land and are active in their communities. You put all your energy into growing it right, so I ensure it is designed and sewn right too. Cotton is a natural fit in the circular economy. My new Australian cotton bridal collection is made from biologically circular inputs with zero hidden plastics.”
Emma Bond's cotton design makes Melbourne Cup fashions on the field national final. Ms Bond will be wearing her naturally dyed Australian cotton gown, styled with dried cotton plants, at the national finals. "I feel our local fibres should be at the forefront of fashion conversations," Ms Bond said.

I was curious and excited to participate in The Textile Exchange Cotton Round Table in Amsterdam. I believe it’s important to be part of this discussion of preferred fibres and maintain a global perspective. I had the opportunity to speak with others gaining valuable insights, empathy and knowledge all the while sharing and contributing. Emma Bond attended the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen and chose to illustrate and take notes so that we may visually share key messages and the passion clearly present, driving ambition to action! Illustrations and notes were made from life, at the event.
