I was curious and excited to participate in The Textile Exchange Cotton Round Table in Amsterdam. I believe it’s important to be part of this discussion of preferred fibres and maintain a global perspective. I had the opportunity to speak with others gaining valuable insights, empathy and knowledge all the while sharing and contributing. We need to raise visibility and representation from the top of the chain so that the fashion community, including those with disabilities, can feel reflected and identified as a part of society. Different people have different needs, good design accommodates this without compromising aesthetic and style.

Australian Fashion Week (AFW) run for industry by industry. This generational opportunity for the Australian fashion industry marks a transformational shift. I am confident that AFW will evolve into a platform that elevates Australian fashion on a global stage prioritising the needs of local industry that generates over $28b for the Australian economy. Leading designers, Vogue Australia, Ebay Australia, University of Technology Sydney showed solidarity here, have you shown your support? I attended the AFC member update (virtually) yesterday and congratulate the proactive actions, vision, accountability and transparency of the Australian Fashion Council (AFC).
