From emerging designer to established brand, Michael Lo Sordo’s star has been on the rise since early beginnings in 2006. His eponymous brand is committed to creating staple yet unique statement pieces that can be innovated from season to season. Designing for the woman who stands out, MICHAEL LO SORDO is made for the romantic minimalist, and razor sharp sophisticate.

A few of Michael’s words from #AAFW

Finding inspiration

You have to feed your creativity. Go to an art gallery. Support other communities. Learn about others.

“I like to think if myself as an antenna.  I pick up on what people love, & what they don’t. I filter all that and funnel it into a collection.”

Advice for fashion entrepreneurs

“There are so many things you can do. I take my time with everything. Time costs money. But so does mistakes.”

You do what ever you need to do that saves you money and gets you out there.

You should constantly be putting your fingers in as many pies as possible. Learning constantly so that you can make informed decisions.

It’s about listening. You have a vision but it must also come from those around you. You have to be open to feedback.

Create those pieces that have their own story.

Your finger must be on the pulse. But you must always remain true to yourself.

Australian Fashion

Shop local. It is really important. The world is looking at us. It is time for Australian fashion. Change the way we purchase. Invest in one or two dresses, not 20.
